Changes to my study programme

The changes that would be necessary to made in the career of Anthropology in this university are a lot. I really don't recomend this career because you will found a lot of obstacles and they will frustrate you, so, i always said that if you want to study this, get ready to fight for a good learning process.
One very important thing i would like to change in the curriculum it is the absurd enphasis on the theorical part. It is necessary to study the history and everythign related to how today we use the anthropology, but that part of the learning (to me) it doesn't really matter if you don't get down of that cloud and start to think in the real world. As an example (i always use this one), in a subject named "Political anthropology" we studied every theme in function of the movie "The godfather" a movie made in 1972 instead of using the actual political escenary that we live on, the one that is happen right here in front of our noses. For the students is exhausting this career, but I think the workload it is okay, the main trouble it is that no one ever planed anything, the last two weeks we have to write every work (not every subject, but the most of its).
The facilities this career should have, considering just social Anthropology, it is just MONEY, ok, not just money, but mainly it is. Add subjects aplicated and money to go work on the field. We only do this kind of work like one week per year. Also, the teaching methods are like shock doctrine in some cases, a boring person talking for more than two hours, and a little number of teachers make the class more participative and inclusive, or at least they try.

Swimming

In general, i like every kind of sport because it is easy for me to and i'am good at it. Since i was little, i been always doing different sports (some school activities, not in a professional way), that depended on the period of my life. The firts sport that i remember was in elementary school when i practiced artistic gymnastics and cheerleading, i don't know if the last one is a sport, but i use to practice a lot. After that, i played football for a little while but i wasn't the sport for me, i'm not that coordinated with my feet. Then i played volleyball until i had a lesson in both of my legs :(. When i get into the university i played also volleyball but the times to practiced were really bad to the way i organized my week, so i quit. And the last Sport i had trained, it is swimming.
Swimmping, in my opinion, it is the best sport you will ever train. If you do it rigth, you should use every muscle in your body. It clarifys your mind when you are sad, bored, angry, and everything. BUT this year i went to the pool like 2 times because i had absolutely no time. When i started to train this sport, my body and my mind felt really good (i trained 3 times a week and 2 hours each day) so i really recomend to train any sport because you will feel better.
I think that if you don't have the money, is really difficult to practice any sport. It's not like you had to have money to do it, because you can run in the streets.. but there is no culture in this area, and if you have some free time outside the eternal 8 hours of work (that most of chilean people do) people rather to rest some or work more, so it is all the sistem's fault

The best concert I've had

The best concert I've ever had was in January 2010. It was called "El Abrazo Cristal (the beer) en vivo". I was fourteen years old and I read about this concert in the news with a lot of anticipation so I got the tickets unbelievably cheap, two tickets paying just one ($16.000). The main thing about this concert was the "hug" that its name refered to, I do not remember exactly but it was something about 8 chilean artists and 8 argentinian artists, all united in one stage. Names like Charly García, Fito Paez, Jorge Gonzalez, Andrés Calamaro, Luis Alberto Spinetta, among other men, Nicole and maybe another woman were the ones who sang in this concert.
The magic of this concert and why it became my favorite is that in the middle of the summer, when the hot is unbearable, it started to rain, not a lot but just what we needed. It was awesome because no one were prepared and it was just in the moment when Charlie was singing so he went out of control (i never really liked his attitude), any way, it was so unexpected and, do not forget... i only paid $8.000!

A country I'd like to visit

Recently i've been thinking on a plan for my future and it is about traveling. This plan is because I have always known that the two things that will make me truly happy is traveling and knowing places and work here in Chile to change a lot of things I can't accept as they are. So my plan is going to France, because there is a nice and awesome place to learn the language, working as a anthropologist or not, it doesn't really matters. I just want to work and learn (the lenguage and visit every place I can). Speaking French is one of the requirements to get the Swiss nationality and then i will study there something i like (related with education and sexuality) and it could be useful to work in Chile, to make a change.
I don't really know much about this country, but i would like to live in a city with beaches and not so typical, so I don't want to live in Paris, maybe Nantes (a city i've just look up).

Today I would like to wirte about travel. the other day i was talking with a friend about traveling and how much i like the idea of knowing new places and new experiences and that it was kind of my dream living just traveling, working in any place, save money, know the most i can in every place and after that, travel to some place new again. Until now, i know very well the south part of Chile, i need to know a lot yet. From south america, i know a part of bolivia, uruguay and the last summer i visited a little part of argentina and a beach (really close to uruguay) from brasil. I like to know the little parts and the unknown from every place but until now i haven't achieve well :( but i keep trying.

But all this idea of traveling for life, crushes with my idea of change the world, or at least, the country. And that is also a kind of a dream so i think i will try to equilibrate this two things like traveling and learning and to do something with the knowledge.

My favourite subject

My favourite subject is Rural Anthropology. This subject started with the history of the "hacienda" in Chile. This part is quite boring because is really slow. After that, we studied the agrary reform and this is the most interesting part because it explains how rural world works now. And here we see how different were the reforms depending on the president, how Alessandri started a really lazy reform that Frei made more radical and had a big impact. After this, with the president Allende, this reform was totally radicall and the rural workers take a lot of power.
This subjetc includes go to the fields, some rural place were years ago an hacienda existed there, and interview people to rebuild the history of the agrary reform.
I like this subject because first the teacher is great. He explains the subject he has been investigating for a lot of years. The things we study here are interesting because, after this class i never question this history before and the rural life is a lot more common that what we know.
So i invite all of you to learn a little bit more of the rural history :)

An expert in my field

The expert in anthropology that i would like to write about is Max Gluckman, a South-African anthropologist. One of his contributions were introduced the importance of conflict in social situations and social structures, he was one of the first working this topic so he became a exponent in this area. The other contribution, in my opinion, is that in his works, he made explicit his history, his culture, his color, because he worked with the conflict between black and white people in Africa, so he was always aware of this aspects and he also write this so when we read, we understand why he think that way. Today, i think that the most important is the second contribution, but i don't think that he is consider for that. I found out about him in a subject named Anthropology IV, where we had to read one of his text about "zululand" as he wrote. In this text, he explain how this conflict where, in first, because of the colors and the different logic they had, but later was about interest. Particularly in Zulú, people relations where moved and based in their interest, but this relations where very fragile because there were a lot of changes.
